My parents went to the Cal vs. Kansas basketball game the other night, so I was home alone with my sis and Kyle. Bored, but too tired to do anything that involved changing out of PJs, I randomly decided to bake. My mom always has tons of magazines on hand, including my faves, Bon Appetite and Sunset. I raided the cabinets and pantry… Not too shabby. My parents didn’t have medjool dates…or dried apples…and not very much honey…soooo, yeah, I made quite a few changes to the recipe I was using. Given that the ingredients… Read more >

Now this is a beautiful sight. This is what dreams are made of…for a hummus lover at least. 🙂 On Monday night I had about half of the tub for dinner (with every dippable I could get my hands on), and the rest I packed up for Tuesday’s lunch. You know how I do it… Just throw it in the bag The same thing that the bankrobber told the teller Just throw it in the bag That’s the way it suppose to be A real [bleep] ‘posed to help you out with the groceries Just… Read more >

Last weekend, Kyle and I were invited to brunch. However. This was no ordinary Sunday brunch. This was a gathering in the name of brand management (which for me, just meant vegan taste testing). When I was a young thang growing up in CA I loved the rain. In elementary school indoor recesses were a novelty. In junior high and high school, the rain meant we had an excuse to get insanely muddy (yes, I was a bit of a tomboy). Especially playing soccer in the rain…so fun! Cut to my years on the East Coast… In NYC I hated the rain. I’m not really sure what prompted this drastic change of heart, but I suspect it had to do with the fact that there was ALWAYS the chance… Read more >

Saturday was sponsored by the letter “b” apparently. Kyle and I woke up at 7 am to get in a morning jog. I hate working out early in the AM, but I love how it frees up the rest of the day. So conflicting. The reason I don’t like rise-and-shine cardio is because I suck at it. I’m slow in the mornings. I don’t really start to function until an hour (or two, if I’m being honest) after I’ve been awake. The route I took Saturday morning typically takes me 24 minutes (when I do… Read more >
