You must be sick of non-food (aka house progress) posts by now, huh? Ok, how about my work food for a change of pace (slash return to the real reason I blog). Breakfast… Oats, puffed millet, white chia seeds and sunflower seed butter on top. You want me to back up with that? 1 cup whole rolled oats + 1 1/2 cups boiling water + 1/4 cup puffed millet + 1 tbsp chia seeds Once I let them sit a bit, the water got soaked up and the chia seeds gelled, so… Read more >

For reals, this duo is like the new A-list couple. Except instead of being featured all over E! it’s my camera’s memory card that’s reached capacity. Brangelina can suck it, this pair has beauty and brains. Well, not really, but whatever. For the past week, I’ve been eating avocado and eggs in every form I can imagine. This sandwich was one I created a few weeks ago and it just keeps coming back. That’s how you know when a recipe is a real winner. hard boiled eggs honey mustard dijon mustard butternut squash… Read more >

A post from Sunday this late in the week? What the!? Yes, I know I’m dragging last weekend out. The truth is, we don’t have internet (or food!!) at our new place yet and I’m leaving this weekend (again) to drive up to Sacramento for a funeral so I have little motivation to share my latest eats. And last weekend I ate some great stuff, so why not make it last? Breakfast started with coffee and almond milk. This is worth mentioning because we ran out of almond milk the second day I… Read more >

Is there anything better than a warm mug of chai tea with almond milk? If so, I’d love to try it. Chai infused breakfasts oats are a start. And Chai cookies are in my future. But for now, I’m going to delight in the simplicity of this tea. Work food. Oatmeal with ground flax seeds, blueberries and vanilla almond milk. Fried millet with veggie and hard boiled egg. Carrots, banana, candied ginger as snacks. Not my usual haul because this was for an 8 hour day, not the full 12. Luckily we were done with… Read more >

That last post had some pretty scenery from the weekend, but not a lot of eats. Here’s a recap of last weekend at home, in food format. To start the road trip off on the right foot, I got a big kale, spinach, beet, carrot, and ginger juice. Pink pee is especially fun when you’ve been holding your bladder for 4 hours. We stopped twice on the drive home and arrived in L-town just in time for dinner. I had a pumpkin Bolani and salad. The next morning we slept in, which meant coffee and… Read more >
