Breakfast quiches

In my last post I mentioned that we’d be starting weekly meal planning.  We’ve never really done this before, but our budget is tight and grocery shopping is pretty much the only area that we spend.  Plus it makes sense now that Kyle’s working and his schedule is consistent (as opposed to when he was in school and constantly had random meetings or events or clubs or whatever).  Now we know when we will be eating and we can plan things out. The East side

Egg-cellent

  Egg salad on a fresh baguette.   Soft fluffy bread.  Tangy mustard eggs.  They’re a damn fine pair.    The egg salad has 3 eggs (3 whites/2 yolks) + 1 tsp stone ground mustard + 1 tsp honey mustard + 1 tbsp plain greek yogurt So good.   I sprinkled a dash of salt on top afterwards.  And now in hindsight I wish I’d added a touch of paprika.  I’m so obsessed with eggs right now. Over the last few weeks…     Proof. 

Subtext

  The most massive banana ever.  At the perfect state of ripeness.   A work breakfast (flaxy oatmeal) that I didn’t end up eating because I got cafeteria french toast instead.  GAHHHHH!!!  Why can’t I quit you!!! Quinoa, roasted veggies, and nooch up the yin yang. Greens, roasted veggies, hardboiled eggs, and avocado.  Again, I nooch-ed it up post-photo. Color Scheme?

While looking at my latest food photos I noticed a trend…       My new polishes and my recent meals are far too similar in color scheme to be coincidental.  Looks like my subconscious has a preference for certain hues right now.  🙂 Top Left: corn meal grits with Bragg’s aminos and avocado Top Right: spinach salad with quinoa, eggs, & carrots Bottom Left: tempeh scrambler Bottom Right: The Better Chip chips (love!)
