I really don’t like this new UC logo.  I’m saving the Daily Bruin crossword for Friday because our baby dresser/changing table is going to be delivered sometime between 12 and 4 pm.  That’s a lot of waiting around time that I need to fill.  But I am SO excited about this dresser (nursery photos to come).   Oh, and in case you couldn’t guess, that breakfast was GF toast with Earth Balance and two perfectly fried eggs.   There’s nothing (ok, very little) that makes me happier than a fully stocked fruit situation.  I’m on… Read more >

“Five” balls

Dearest medjools.  You make everything taste like dessert.  And yet, you count as a fruit.  One of mother nature’s true gifts. Leftovers multiple ways

Last weekend we went to Veggie Grill for takeout.  You get a free entree for your birthday and since you have until the end of the month to use it, I was almost out of time!  I decided to try something new (I figured since it was free I should order something that I wouldn’t ordinarily get).  I hate to say it but I may have OD-ed on the All Hail Kale Salad. I hate to bring up puss before sharing these photos, but I think you’ll agree they are delicious enough to overcome the gross introduction. The samoa cupcakes from Sweet Freedom Bakery left my mouth in a state of yearning (for more). Look at that sweet gooey center! This is the best kind of oozing you can ever hope to come across. Thanks to google, I found… Read more >

Operation Elimination

Prepping for the “elimination phase” of the FODMAPS diet was a bit daunting at first.  I found myself looking up individual foods constantly to see what their chemical structure was (and if they contained FODMAPS).  But once I started to get the hang of it, I came up with lots of meal ideas. My meals will continue to be plant-based, but I want to try and make this as helpful as possible for all my fellow IBSers, so please note, the starred (*) items are for those who aren’t vegan. FODMAPS free grocery list Fruit… Read more >
