Our first day in DC was a really productive one. We were up and out the door at a pretty impressive time. Starting at the WWII Memorial, we headed to the Vietnam Wall, followed by the Lincoln Memorial, and then the Korean War Memorial. You’d think that would have tired us out, but we pushed on, continuing past the Washington Memorial to the Holocaust Museum. But since it was already busy, we got tickets to return (at 3 pm) and decided to make use of the down time by… Read more >

Here’s what happened tonight. I wasn’t hungry. Wasn’t hungry. Wasn’t hungry. BAM! I need pizza. Now. Like NOW. I was out the door in under 5 minutes with a mission. And I was back home within 15 minutes box in hand. I ate the whole thing. Solo. [vegan pizza with daiya courtesy of the Santa Monica Co-Op] True Life. My appetite is bigger than your appetite. If there were ever a stat order for pizza, this was it. Damn girl. FYI, I made these cookies today, too. I’m so 100% content right now. 🙂

As I mentioned, I’m in Nor Cal for the weekend. Wedding season never ends when you’re in your late 20’s. I spent most of Friday in the car (that I-5 is brutal). But eventually I made it home safe and sound! Not to self: buy an audiobook for the drive back to LA (recommendations welcome!). Pre-departure I had a fruity, yogurt, quinoa breakfast bowl. For those who find soy yogurt a little “off” tasting, try the berry versions…they aren’t as soy-flavored (or however you’d describe that weird after-taste). It’s mostly just with vanilla or… Read more >

Imagine a Whole Foods the size of 15 football fields…now imagine browsing it’s aisles for two days straight…now imagine representatives from every product giving your samples of their latest and greatest to try (for free!)…and THAT, my friends, is EXPO WEST. In other words, hippie heaven. Friday started bright and early as Kyle and I made our way to Anaheim to register and all that jazz. And before we knew it, the doors pearly gates opened and BAM! Instantly we were slammed with people pushing samples at us…nibbles and bites of savory, creamy, sweet, smooth,… Read more >

If I told you I’ve been blasting the new Britney Spears song on repeat for most of the day? You probably should. It’s not exactly brilliant in the lyrics department. It’s catchy, but overly repetitive. At least it inspired me to make a new running mix…which inspired me to go on a run…which made me feel like a million bucks for the entire day. Chain reaction a la B. Spears. This morning started with a late wake up. Unlike yesterday’s garbage truck fiasco, this was the perfect way to enjoy my morning off. Then I… Read more >
