The whole shebang of last week in one post. Here goes. Breakfast on Monday was the last of this savory bread and fried eggs. Breakfast on Tuesday was out – I had a savory crepe with hash browns at Crepeville. Because Crepeville’s portions are awesomely massive I had leftovers for breakfast on Wednesday. Which I paired with two fried eggs. Thursday I made steel cut oats in the rice cooker (the crock pot was already occupied) for our whole family. I topped mine with a bunch of non-nut things (aka seeds galore) – including… Read more >

Kyle brought these home for me from work. Marc’s mom’s macaroons Ingredients: 4 egg whites 1 tbsp vanilla 1-2 tbsp sugar (to taste) 1/4 tsp salt 2 + 1/3 packets of TJ’s sweetened shredded coconut (each packet is 6 oz so ~14 oz total) [optional] bittersweet chocolate, melted Directions: Beat egg whites until soft peaks form, add salt, sugar, and vanilla. From Davis, it’s not too long of a car ride to Lake Tahoe! And since we left straight from swim lessons (again!), we had a sleepy babe for 80% of the ride. Once we got to the cabin, it was time to relax. 🙂 Ok, first unpack, then relax. Food much? You’d think we were packing to feed an army for a month. But it was really just Thursday through Sunday (celebrating an early Christmas with Kyle’s side of the family). Guess what’s in those plastic boxes!?! SIX (!!) different kinds of… Read more >
