Here are some products I’ve tried lately. Some were bad, some were okay, some were good, and some were awesome. So I figured I’d share. I have no affiliation with any of these companies. These are simply my honest opinions. 1. Choc & Nut spread. This is a vegan version of Nutella. I first came upon this French company at Expo West and after one bite I was hooked. It tastes heavenly – chocolate & hazelnut in a creamy smooth buttery spread. I found it at my local Co-Op and it’s not cheap. $10 for… Read more >

These are the product of an extreme baking binge a few weeks ago. The only reason I held off in sharing them was because I hadn’t tried them (and therefore didn’t know how they’d turned out). If you’ve read my blog for any amount of time, you know I’m not one to practice self restraint, so allow me to clarify why I waited a week to try my own baking… I had three other treats (maple oat muffins, banana bread and chocolate chip cookies) already filling my daily sweet quota. And since each was… Read more >

I probably make or pack Kyle’s lunches 75% of the time. He only eats on campus a few days a week and every once in a while it aligns with my work days. Which means… I can pack both of our food the night before and kill two birds with one stone. His differ in that they often have cheese and packaged health bars, but otherwise they are very similar. I made his salad with spinach, tomatoes, falafel, sunflower seeds, and parmesan. While mine had quinoa instead of cheese. My breakfast… Read more >

Laziness continued. Coffee. Coffee. Fruit. Coffee. A perfect Sunday morning (“morning” being used loosely since I slept in a LOT). Random fact: I really love fruit salad but I never make it because I like it when it’s already at least a day old. That means I have to plan ahead so I get the exact level of oxidized fruit. I also think that bananas are the essence of any good fruit salad. That’s why I made this salad the night before. It had apples, strawberries, pineapple, blackberries, and bananas. If it… Read more >

I’ve come to the conclusion that it’s impossible to make crock-pot meals look appetizing. The night before photo looks like tomato and almond milk soup. Gross. The next morning photo looks like old crusty cornbread. Double gross. What it actually had was: 1 cup corn meal 2 1/2 cups water 1 cup plain almond milk 10 cherry tomatoes (I punctured them with a knife before hand) 1 tbsp grain mustard 1 tsp fresh parsley, chopped pinch salt Started at midnight…6 hours later…I was still asleep…but it was ready for Kyle. That’s why half… Read more >
