Breakfast, lunch, & chocolate

Breakfast. Froth. Pumpkin coconut oats. Lunch. Whole wheat pita with faux “tuna” salad and roasted red pepper hummus. This is a new brand of pitas and I couldn’t be more in love.  The fluffier, the better. Snacks. Three Sisters Cinnamon Sweets. Enjoy Life Boom Choco Boom bar. Do you really not know what this is? I totally Top Chef marathon-ed it for most of the day.  With many chocolate breaks. How a hippie eats a Reese’s vegan fudge peanut butter cup. *Note: you may want tea for between bites because this is one rich dessert…. Read more >

From drab to fab

In case you want a visual image with the post title, as you say it picture me snapping my fingers across my body with some serious sass.  And now roll your eyes. Ah well, we can’t all be divas. The pancake bandwagon

After the long work weekend, I was looking forward to sleeping in on Monday, but my internal clock didn’t get the memo.  Instead I embraced it and got to work on my day’s tasks. After coffee #3, I turned to some grub. Protein pancakes are all the rage right now…and I had to see what all the fuss was about. I’m not sure where this trend actually started, I seem to see them multiple times a day on various blogs, so to whoever coined the recipe first, I tip my hat to you.  The stats… Read more >

La Manzana Grande

This post title is in honor of my spanglish sistah and my visiting foodies.  But first and foremost, I just wanted to say that re-reading my last post made me feel so whiney.  Not a fan.  I definitely did not mean to sound all “woe-is-me” and “there’s-no-rest-for-the-weary” because I’m going to be working on thanksgiving.  So let me explain.  I would definitely head home if I could – the more family time the better!  Kyle actually headed home Sunday morning, which I very much encouraged him to do (why not take as much time off… Read more >
