Los Seis Favoritos

1. Cabo Coffee Co. This was some damn fine coffee!  The Cabo Coffee Company has two locations in Cabo, and if I had even an inch of extra space in my suitcase, I’d find a way to smuggle a few pounds home with me.  Looks like those souvenir shot glasses are gonna get the boot.  😉 Paired with some lactose free milk (leche deslactosada)… Nothing like some fresh local java to put some pep in your step (not that anyone needs to be productive while in Mexico…). Runner up coffee selection goes to Blason Premium… Read more >

Jamie Oliver’s nightmare

As Kyle and I attempt to empty our fridge and freezer before moving, I have discovered both the pros & cons of pre-packaged meals.  Pro:  Mindless, easy prep (box –> plate? even a caveman Kyle can do that) Con: Stipation (where the greens at, yo?) Ok, we aren’t eating ONLY thawed sh!t… I still had some odds and ends that I pulled together for a salad, which included the raw One Lucky Duck Rosemary quackers I bought last week. I sampled a few with hummus and they were pretty tasty.  My only issue was that… Read more >

Bare basics

Are you ready for the basics?  I’m exhausted to a bare bones post is all I’ve got in me :(  Breakfast: Fruit & caf Snack: Cinnamon raisin bagel submerged in Earth Balance And a mug of tea and crossword a la mode… Lunch: Everything-in-the-fridge salad spinach edamame shitake mushrooms matchstick carrots cherry tomatoes corn roasted red peppers dried cranz Bragg’s liquid aminos (A LOT!) Snack: carrots & noochy hummus Ok, for some random reason, this batch of Cedar’s hummus doesn’t have much going on in the flavor department…which is odd considering it’s my #1 brand… Read more >

Adios NYSC, Hola DVDs

Today was a good day for your truly.  And it will be for you too, since there’s a giveaway involved (read on).  I have nothing very interesting to report.  I started a new book, watched mindless t.v. shows, did Jillian’s shred (level 1), and then made it to the gym for my last workout at NYSC.  I also did some eating. The single serving Silk vanilla soymilk was a freebie from the 1/2 marathon.  Honestly, the goody-bags you get at races is such a fun perk. I also made pumpkin/carob chip toast (and only took… Read more >

Grrrrr

Today sucked.  Mondays suck.  I was thisclose to not ranting on the blog, but I just decided to let it all out (it’s pretty therapeutic).  So here it goes… Approximately one second after stepping foot outside the hospital today I burst into tears.  I knew it was going to happen.  I’d been holding it in all day.  Naturally I called Kyle and he made things better-ish (or at least as better as they could be in the moment), but I couldn’t help how I truly felt (which was a combination of sad/pissed/angry/frustrated). There were many… Read more >
