DC: A Pizza Town

Our first day in DC was a really productive one.    We were up and out the door at a pretty impressive time.  Starting at the WWII Memorial, we headed to the Vietnam Wall, followed by the Lincoln Memorial, and then the Korean War Memorial.          You’d think that would have tired us out, but we pushed on, continuing past the Washington Memorial to the Holocaust Museum. But since it was already busy, we got tickets to return (at 3 pm) and decided to make use of the down time by… Read more >

Day 10: Day trip to town

Due to poor weather conditions, we didn’t have much desire to venture away from our hotel in Uruguay.  However, we did make it into town one day.   We walked there (tricked into thinking it was just a stroll down the beach) and it was drizzling nearly the entire time.  But at least we got to see Punta Del Este’s main attraction. Hollywood, Glendale, and Larchmont [oh my]

We covered some serious ground on Laura’s last day in LA! I’m a horrible sister considering I’ve lived in LA for over 6 years (four in college and two currently) and never taken her to see the touristy sights. We started at the Chinese Theatre.  She saw the stars…and some other characters…and quickly realized why I avoided that part of the city.   For lunch we headed over to Mendocino Farms, a place I’ve been meaning to try for a while.    I’m so lame when it comes to leaving the Westside.  I fully admit… Read more >
