Meet Milo

My parents went to pick out our new puppy yesterday!  I say “our” but I don’t live at home anymore, so it’s really theirs.  But since it took over 3 months for all 5 family members to agree on the name, it’s safe to say it’s the family puppy.    We had a German Shepherd when I was growing up, too.  So we really wanted another.  My mom holding Milo. Could he BE any cuter??? He’s only 4 weeks old now, so we have to wait ‘til he’s a bit older (and no longer breast… Read more >

Flo’s Birthday

Florence Nightingale that is!  Not exactly a major holiday, and probably not on the “normal” person’s radar, but tomorrow is her birthday and also the end of nurses week.  Speaking of which, you all were SO sweet with those comments about my job.  It’s nice to be able to talk about other parts of my life on a (mostly) food blog and know that readers aren’t snoozing (or scrolling) through it.  OK…now that the sappy stuff is over with and I’ve satisfied the quota for random trivia-of-the-day, I’ll move on to the comida. oil…from the gland of an otter

Apparently I have to choose between saving for a wedding, and keeping up with the food blog fads.  So, in the interest of staying engaged, I’m unable to juice for breakfast.  No, not that kind of juice.  This kind. The predominant color is the almond milk and plain tofu.  Good thing… Read more >

Working and grazing

(At the crack of AM) breakfast: Coffee.  Froth.  CranBran Vitatop.  Off to work. Snack:  Newman’s Own Organic Honey Wheat Pretzels I ate these all day long, and finished the whole bag myself.  Addicting, for sure.  I rarely buy pretz because of this very phenomenon.  I especially loved this honey wheat flavor, though, because it has the perfect combination of salty and sweet – way better than regular pretzels.  The huge salt crystals kinda ripped up the roof of my mouth though.  I think that’s my issue though, not Newman’s Own.  I swear I’ve gained 5… Read more >

5/5

Happy Cinco de Mayo bloggies! Five is my fave number, so I have always loved this date, add in Mexican food, and I’m partying like it’s my birthday! Today was a ridic.  I couldn’t take pics of everything I ate.  Cliff’s notes: wedding, food, wedding, food, wedding, food, wedding The day started off rough.  I had frothing issues.    **Side note: I didn’t know there was a difference in Stevia derived sweeteners (Truvia, Rebiana, PureVia, SweetLeaf, etc.), but after one of Gena’s posts, I looked on the back of my NuStevia box and was a… Read more >
