Is this not the most gorg sashimi presentation?
Kyle and I went out for a date night (baby sitters are still received with mixed reviews by the kids). I swear, every time you get through a tough phase with one kid, the next kid senses the peace and enters a new – dare I say MORE DIFFICULT phase. Initially Valley was the limiting factor in getting baby sitters…then Mr. P went through an extremely tough phase that made us want to pull all our hair out…and now he’s back to his former self and she has decided to lose it (despite knowing and loving this baby sitter). Man oh man. In any event, we managed to slip away and even though V was still awake when we got home, it was all worth it for this lovely meal and QT with my main squeeze.
I really wanted him to try some of the dishes I got with my foodie buddies last time I went. Starting with this seared wagyu beef nigiri. DAAAAAANG.
These were different oysters from the ones I got last time. Still good, but not as &^%$ good as the first one I had.
Best dish of the night award goes toooooo….this wagyu tsukune. It was a highlight last time Kyle and I went so we ordered it again.
And then finally, the sticky duck wings, which were just the right amount of spice and finger licking (bowl slurping) good. If there were any vessel on the table left I would have drank the sauce that was left over at the end.
A fantastic Kru meal. Why go anywhere else if everything here is this good. Next time I want to try more rolls. The hand rolls looked like burritos and the omakase menu is calling my name.
Well obviously you just have to do date night much more often so the kids just get used to having a sitter come! ;))
Easier said than done for many reasons i am sure but odds are the kids will be fine and not even remember this phase a few years from now.
What a gorgeous meal! Seems like that was one great dish after another… i love sushi hand rolls but have yet to figure out an elegant way to eat one!
