Buns of steel

Since I’m babysitting today, here’s a post with last week’s food that I have been meaning to get up for a while.  Enjoy!

A while ago Foodbuzz hooked it up.  I received three kinds of Nature’s Pride buns to test out, and my family was on board to help.

Here’ are the stats:

And here’s how they were consumed:

Ditto of the above.

The verdict: Well done Nature’s Pride!  You managed to make a bun that was sturdy enough to eat with a veggie burger OR meat burger, and that was also soft enough that you don’t have to wrestle with it in your mouth (twss).  The list of ingredients is short enough to buy again, although I am more excited to try the Whole Wheat variety (which is currently in the freezer because my parents’ fridge is way too packed).  What I’m not a fan of is the “100% Natural” claim, since the term is completely unregulated and thus means nothing to me.  But as a whole, I’d say this product is a winner.

Thanks for the review! It takes a lot to hold a Dr. Praeger’s burger in place, so they must be good!

i really liked the trader joe’s tofu burgers, but was also a little weirded out by them. also, and true story, i don’t like hamburger buns and never eat my burgers (turkey or veggie) with them. i guess i’m a little crazy?

how horrid is this? i get the same package and leave the buns in the fridge while i went away for the weekend. i come home on sunday and my younger werewolf brother ATE THEM ALL. YES 2 friggn packages.

on the bright side i guess they were good?

p.s. serious avacado slicing skills you have!

I received those too and was bummed that they contained CREAM, of all ingredients… even if I wasn’t a vegan, I could do without cream in my buns (twss)…. oh well 🙂

I shared those buns with my family too, and we all raved about them! So fluffy, fresh, and delicious!

I know this post was about those lovely buns but how was the TJs burg? I’ve seen it in stores but have yet to buy it. Sorry if you already mentioned your thoughts, I’m getting old so my memory has started to decline 😉

Pretty good, but I still prefer Boca’s. There is a fairly high fat content in TJs, not sure why exactly…but it’s not like it’s amazingly more delish because of it, so I’d pass in lieu of better burgs.
