Soooo…apparently my new hobby is trying out different boozy drinks (seltzers, kombuchas, ciders, etc). I don’t really drink beer and wine at all anymore. I think I average one glass of wine a year. But now that I’ve discovered these fun guys I am quite smitten…
The Health-Ade isn’t alcoholic, I just took a pic because I have been in a Health-Ade phase. It used to be rare for me to not have GT’s (or home-made) kombucha on a daily basis. Now my fridge is semi stocked with Health-Ade because I have been really into their unique flavors! The Holiday Cheers (seasonal) one was SO GOOD. I hadn’t been able to find it in Davis, but then I saw one in Monterey and grabbed it for the road. Now I am kicking myself that I didn’t buy a bunch because it’s my favorite flavor at the moment!
In terms of favorite hard kombucha, I think boochcraft is my favorite, but Kyla is a close second. It really depends on the flavors though. The grapefruit and ginger flavors of booch craft are too strong and I can’t drink a whole can. But the orange pomegranate beet is awesome. I haven’t tried any of the other flavors yet, but the seasonal turmeric tangerine ginger has definitely caught my eye. I also love the Kyla ginger tangerine. It has a lower alcohol content too, so I don’t get destroyed in the middle of the day. JK. I’m not drinking any of them in the middle of the day (but the only reason for that is because I have to drive my kids around to various activities otherwise you better believe I’d be crackin’ cans at 4 pm on the reg, just sayin!). I also like JuneShine but the cans are huge so I am wasted before I even get half way through it! GT’s even makes a few alcoholic flavors (which I’ve never seen in Davis, but have gotten at various Whole Foods stores throughout California). I’ve tried the ‘New World Noir’ (tastes a little like wine) and the ‘Piña Colada’ (tastes like a fizzy pineapple drink) with the latter turning me into enough of a fan to buy it again.
Hard seltzer isn’t quite as good, but it totally works if you feel like a refreshing drink that has an edge to it. I pretty much rolled through every holiday party with one in my hand. 😉 As controversial as this might be to say, White Claw is actually my least fave. I prefer Truly and Bon&Viv. And after that, I like Wild Basin for their interesting flavors.
Anyway, those are my thoughts. If you know of any other good brands that you love, lemme know in the comments!
