I know all the other number nerds out there appreciated the date today as much as I did. To the rest of you, happy Friday.
Kyle and I got take-out from The Veggie Grill since I had a birthday coupon that was days away from expiring.
Free entree, what what!
Since my All Hail Kale salad was on the house, I got a side of Mac ‘n Cheese without feeling any guilt (about the extra $).
The salad has marinated kale and red cabbage, roasted corn salsa, agave-roasted walnuts with a ginger-papaya vinaigrette. I love that all their salads come with quinoa tossed into the greens. I added blackened tempeh for extra oomph in the protein department.
Kyle got the mac ‘n cheese too, as well as the Bali Bliss burger (sorry, no photo).
I’ve sung the praises of this cheesy quinoa pasta before, but it’s worth repeating. If you live anywhere near a Veggie Grill, you best try this dish.
Kyle ate his first and then drooled over mine as I slowly savored it after my salad was gone. It was mean of me to enjoy how tortured he looked…and tease him excessively with each exaggerated bite. But I did.
Yum! I wish I had one by me!
Damn Northern Canadian living! I’m lucky if I meet someone who understands the true definition of ‘Vegan’! If I was ever in a large city, I will take advantage of all the delicious veggie options!
What an enticing meal! I’m glad I stumbled on your blog; I look forward to reading more in the future. I hope you’ll enjoy my blog, too. 🙂 –Ruthie

MMmmm…that mac N cheese does look good! I’m assuming the pasta is made from quinoa? I’ve never seen that before, but i’ll be on the lookout!
that salad looks amazing!! and the name it too
YUM! That mac looks so good! 🙂
Mmm….that’s what I call a delicious takeout! If I could get meals to go that were anything like that, I would be tempted to do so WAY more often! Right now I never ever get takeout cause we only have pizza and other crap nearby – but your options look AMAZING! 🙂 Happy Saturday, lovely! xyx
The foundations of a great marriage, right? 😉
I used to love this place when I was living in the OC! I wish it would come to Washington (or even NorCal would be great!).
that mac n cheese is practically making me drool right now. Looks soooo good!
I’m OBSESSED with Veggie Grill. Like, it’s ridiculous how often I’m there. But, I can’t get enough of the All Hail Kale! I usually opt for no walnuts and add blackened tempeh- so delicious!
And their Mac n’ Cheese is to. die. for. As are their sweet potato fries. Come to think of it, I have yet to try something I didn’t love.
Okay, I’m done ranting about my infatuation now. I’m glad you guys had a nice evening!
