I have a few things I’m realllly into right now, and I feel like sharing them.
1. Our weekend farmer’s market routine.
I got 3 bunches of kale, 4 zucchini, 2 yellow squash, 3 ears of corn and a partridge in a pear tree for $9.
2. Ally McBeal
I never watched this show when it was on in the 90’s but I am loving it right now. I had the urge to start watching it after reading Portia De Rossi’s book (whoa intense btw). Fortunately Netflix has the show on demand. Being sick (read: not leaving the couch) has it’s perks – let’s just say marathon talk doesn’t necessarily refer to running in this casa.
3. Popsicles
I bought these from Crate & Barrel to make frozen green monster popsicles. I am in love!
4. Coffee with cinnamon and agave nectar
This is a big step for me. I am weaning myself off of fake sugar (stevia) and today was the first day where I really enjoyed my NuNatural-less morning cup of coffee. I am now committed. And I’m sharing it here with you all to make myself accountable.
5. Pink
Ok, this isn’t new for me. I’m a pink whore. My life revolves around the color (the heels I wore at my wedding were pink). I could go on and on…but basically it comes down to this: everything that comes in pink, I have in pink. I had to show you the above photo because I was just lounging on the couch (refer to above sickness) when I realized I looked like a Mattel factory blew up on me.
6. Quinoa granola
After making some a few days ago, I realized I needed to make another batch for myself. It’s just too good. Seriously, if you still haven’t made this granola you need to asap. Thank me later.
7. Lonelyplanet.com
What are YOUR December plans looking like? Because mine are shaping up to be pretty awesome. 🙂
8. Starbucks Gold card rewards
Why wouldn’t I want a free iced coffee with soy milk?
Ok, your turn! What are you into at the moment? Sharing is caring!!
I’m kind of obsessed with nutritional yeast at the moment.
Why are you quitting the stevia?
Coffee with cinnamon and agave nectar = that sounds great
love the popsicle molds
and I Have that very KK, pink, 32 oz, the big one baby!

The whole family has KK’s.
As Lee asked, why are you quitting stevia??!!
Portia de Rossi’s book was intense! I too went through an Ally McBeal kick about a year ago, quite entertaining! Enjoying your Sunday, hope you feel better!
Katie : )
I love Lonelyplanet.com! My favorite travel site has to be Tripadvisor.com. I don’t know how I would plan trips without it!
The coffee looks fantastic. I made the switch from splenda (I know, ick) to Agave in my coffee a few months ago. It wasn’t difficult at all – the agave tastes amazing! I’m also a cinnamon coffee fan. I usually sprinkle the grounds with cinnamon (lightly) before brewing. I also like to sprinkle the grounds with nutmeg or pumpkin pie spice (before brewing). I prefer making my own flavored coffee this way, rather than buying pre-flavored beans.
I have been having odd cravings for white potatoes lately… breakfast, lunch and dinner. So strange but so good 😉
And I cut all fake sugars about 3-4 months ago and while at first it was quite hard, now I am so happy I did it.
I would have NEVER pegged you as a pink person. Is that weird?
Probably as weird as someone telling me I looked like a “Miss Daisy” yesterday.
Just curious — why are you weaning yourself off of stevia?
I’m also curious about the stevia wean. What’s motivating you?
Yum! Cinnamon in coffee is key for me! 🙂
i’m loving the “joy the baker” podcast. it makes me feel like i’m taking a walk with girlfriends when i listen to it (and actually motivates me to walk when i don’t feel like it)
ughhh you’re good with your stevia-less coffee! god bless you and your pink soul mama
I’m surprised you like pink! Somehow, you don’t seem much of a pink person. 😛
what I’m in love with: corn on the cob, sweet potatoes topped with almond butter, cinnamon, and raisins. Oh and the book Girl Who Played with Fire.
Hi Elise, it’s so funny that you’re into Ally McBeal right now because I’m actually watching it while I type! It was my absolute favorite show in High School and since Netflix had it as an Instant Watch I thought it was the perfect time to re-watch it. I hope you enjoy!
Ha! I am oddly enough really into Ally McBeal these days too! I used to watch it every week with my mom and got nostalgic a few weeks ago so I added it to my Netflix queue:)
I am also really into guacamole and coconut water these days.
YES! My mom and I watched Ally McBeal together last year. It’s such a great show!
And I, too, adore pink. 🙂 Great list all around!
I’m currently into iced coffee, fresh veggies, and 30 Rock!
I love Ally McBeal! Oh man, such a guilty pleasure and I thought I was the only one. I love that such WEIRD characters were on mainstream tv. =D
Question: why are you weaning off stevia? I recently did just the opposite, switched from agave to stevia and I find it sooo much better, especially for regulating my blood sugar balance. Also, even though I don’t count calories (like, at all, haha) I appreciate that I’m no longer drinking so many empty ones. I did some research and even though I was super skeptical, it really seemed to me that stevia was safe. I’d love to hear your thoughts!
Mmmmm iced coffee with soymilk. Had one yesterday!!
OK, Season 4 of Ally McBeal is seriously the best season ever, I love Robert Downey Jnr in it, and it never gets old. Too good.
What else am I loving at the mo… Soy yoghurts, and nectarines! The british comedy series The Inbetweeners. If you get over there, I defo recommend checking it out. xxx
Thats the only good thing about being sick- not feeling guilty about watching redic amount of TV! Also i saw a couple of other peeps commented, but why are you cutting out stevia? I have never heard any negative info bout it. Fingers crossed it’s not bad cuz i have it in my coffee every day lol! xx
I am obsessed with smoky tempeh.
As for the stevia switch, health-wise I believe stevia is much better for you than agave. You should check out Kimberly Snyder’s blog, she talks about her hatred of agave.
I’m going cold turkey on the soda (again. last time I made it a year), so for me agave would probably be a step up 😉
hey babs, thanks for the info and reference. my switch to stevia isnt for health reasons, im just trying to re-set my taste buds. my consumption of nunaturals’ products has gotten to an extreme level and i was getting headaches in the AM due to the massive amounts of sweeteners added to my (multiple) cups of coffee and oats. since eliminating them and using agave, the headaches are gone. unfortunately, my taste buds are so slow to acclimate. nothing tastes sweet enough bc i was used to such an extraordinary amount of stevia. ah well. slowly they will return from their desensitized state and i can reintroduce stevia in a more controlled way.
soda is a hard one. good luck!
hey shelley, see my response to other commenters re the stevia. (nothing negative, just obscene overuse)
hey lee,
about my switch to agave…
basically im just trying to re-set my taste buds.
my consumption of nunaturals’ products has gotten ridiculous. ive been slowly titrating up and up and up because my taste buds are becoming desensitized and thus requiring more and more to get the same level of sweetness.
i dont like feeling dependent on things, regardless of if they are deemed safe or plant based. on top of it all, last week i was getting really bad headaches in the AM which i eventually concluded was due to the massive amounts of sweeteners added to my (multiple) cups of coffee and oats. since eliminating them and using agave, the headaches are gone. unfortunately, my taste buds are so slow to acclimate. nothing tastes sweet enough bc i was used to such an extraordinary amount of stevia. ah well. slowly they will return from their desensitized state and i can reintroduce stevia in a more controlled way.
i dont plan on quitting stevia for good. i just want to re-set my taste buds back to a normal state. hope thats answers your question!
see my response to lee above.
oops, i meant my switch *from* stevia
see my above responses. i may do a more detailed post on it since getting so many questions. in essence, im just temporarily re-setting my taste buds.
heyo! great minds…
haha. so funny. you and a few others said that. i wonder why i dont seem like a pink person. admittedly, im not overly girly i suppose, but i definitely love pink 🙂
see above responses. this may require a more detailed post, but basically im just temporarily resetting my taste buds.
so odd how people have perceptions about who you are. i may not be overly girly (well, thats not entirely true, im just kinda a tomboy at heart), but i assure you i love pink 🙂
now what does a miss daisy look like exactly, hahaha
see above responses 🙂
it IS hard. my taste buds are like wheres the sweetness yo? gah. they are such a desensitized mess.
tripadvisor is another great one!
i love the idea of putting the spices in the grounds pre-brew! so smart. im definitely gonna have to try that. thanks 🙂
It’s Winter here in Australia, so my current addictions involve oranges (any type of citrus, really!), mexican-style meals (generally involving sweet potato, kidney beans, and cumin), and thousands of cups of chai. My tastes are pretty seasonal… except for all the frozen berries in my freezer, but shhh, they’re a guilty pleasure. ^__^
By the way, your post about Stevia has made me curious – do you still notice the aftertaste? I find that the strange, almost bitter aftertaste keeps me from using more than a drop or two in my cooking… but I imagine one gets used to it after a while?
🙂
I like things super sweet, too, and use massive amounts of stevia. I used to use splenda and I’m glad I’ve found a more natural alternative. Still, agave and honey are nowhere near sweet enough for me unless I use a LOT. No headaches yet!
no, i dont notice the aftertaste at all.
