Peace, Love, & Hummus

If you read my blog back when I first started, then (1) you endured some pretty heinous “photography” and (2) you know there was a trend in my daily eats…

It’s borderline obnoxious what happens when you enter the word “sabra” in my blog’s search engine.

Obsession much?  Ummm, yes.  But rightfully so.  As far as I’m concerned, this creamy smooth rich dip is in it’s own category.

The above photo is from a festival in Union Square, NY (circa 2008).  I guarantee you can’t imagine the delight I felt that day.

While I can probably think of a few good things that came about from my time on the East Coast, I’d have to say, discovering Sabra is at the top of the list.

Knowing they were based in Queens, I tried to convince Kyle to venture outside our borough several times.  But being the sane person he is, he figured it was best to keep me far far away from hummus dispensing machinery.

Twice I made him take a photos of me in front of a Sabra delivery truck.  In the middle of the Manhattan streets.  Because that’s normal.

I guess what I’m trying to say is…my Sabra adventure has been a long time coming.  Stay tuned for the recap of my amazing trip!

I love Sabra so much, even though it costs more than twice what other brands do, if I’m going to buy hummus, I buy Sabra. Since I got my kitchenaid food processor though, I tend to just make it because I can get the same consistency and taste as sabra and spend just $1 on ingredients as opposed to the $4.59+10% food tax that I pay for 8 oz here. That’s just…insanely expensive and it makes me really sad because sabra isn’t even organic.
