This was a week of extremes. Really high highs, but some pretty miserable lows. The fact of the matter is, molars are the devil. I feel so bad for my little pacman. Despite that, we had fun at our various mom and baby activities throughout the week.
I don’t have very many pics for some reason, probably because I was enjoying the moment. Or chasing P around. Either way it was good times.
We went to the zoo. We went to music class. We had play dates. We stalked the garbage trucks. Standard things.
After Thursday’s meet up at the park all the moms went to The Dock. Some of the dads joined us.
I’d never been before but it’s connected to Sudwerk’s Brewery (where we went when my sister was in town). It’s way more casual – I think it might be where the casks are stored. They have the specialty brews on tap and some communal tables. Not the most baby friendly, but we made it work.
Kyle managed P while I sipped their Dirty Trick.
I got a mega buzz and then P decided it was time to get home.
P got a new toy from his grandparents and he loves it. I’m thinking of using rice instead of sand on the non-water side. Any other ideas?
We went to Chico for a wedding and had a blast. As you can see, by our ridiculously patriotic photo, Kyle is ready to run for Senate. Ha.
P was moody but still quite the champ given his situation.
I brought most of his food (a lot of pouches) so it wasn’t the healthiest weekend – for him or me! The wedding cupcakes were so good and I drank too too much. Way more wheat than my gut has had in a long time. Sunday was rough but I got a half caff the size of my head to help things.
This was the ‘bux where Kyle worked in high school. <– Father & son moment 🙂
We took P to the park for Father’s Day and then went to a brunch at the mom of the bride’s house.
P is finally old enough to play with Kev. Kinda. 🙂
We wanted to hang around longer but the nap situation wasn’t working in our favor so we decided to use the 2 hour commute home as an opportunity to get Patty-cakes some rest.
Where does his red hair come from!? I can’t see it in you two parents, but he looks like quite the red-head! 🙂
Gosh, P is growing up so fast! Still a sweetheart though.
I love your dress!
Urgh I remember molars and not looking forward to them second time round. Love your blue dress!
Once the water gets in contact with the rice, it might start to mold in a few days.
P is getting big!!!!! Can’t imagine how uncomfortable teething must be for toddlers :S
Great post Elise! I’m always reading 🙂
My sons teeth literally exploded into his mouth all at once. He had 4 to start and in his 18th month got ALL remaining 12. It was torture. He liked to gnaw on chilled peeled raw carrots.
Also! The sand table! I used to use shaving cream as a cool enrichment! I would hide toys inside it for him to discover.
That dress is so cute!
oooo shaving cream is a cool idea!
yikes, thanks for the heads up diana. rice is definitely a no-go then!!
hahaha, did my dad pay you to say that! (kidding of course) my dad had red hair and he’s always saying P has reddish hair too. in truth, photos make it look that way but i think its just his scalp coming through. he has super fine blonde hair so its often hard to see his hair at all in photos.
My money’s on him having red hair 🙂
P is so cute!! My friend wasn’t keen on using sand so instead she used small natural glass pebbles – the kind that you use at the bottom of a fish tank. They are normally just polished glass but they look great, are non toxic & were really cheap at the pet shop..
I thought you went back to being a nurse why no mention of that for a while?
P looks so peaceful in the last picture. love it!
nope, for now I’m not working as a nurse.
😛
love the father/son moment at Kyles old S-bux. He’s really come full circle 🙂
That is brave, happiness is more important than extra $$ =)
Teething sucks. It sounds so painful. So glad we have no memory of it. Theo’s just had two molars come through- it was a rough a couple of weeks. And still more to go! x
