A) I made a [vegan] pie from scratch.
It looks pretty and tastes even better. And now I can cross it off my baking bucket list.
Home-made dough is really in a league of it’s own.
As you can see, Kyle was very excited when he got home to warm apple pie (get your mind out of the gutter Jason Biggs).
B) My husband is brilliant. And now he’s going to the White House because of it.
But more importantly, he did a photo shoot and video interview with make-up on. I need to get a hold of these.
Just Kyle and Obama. Kickin’ it. NBD.
C) I’m obsessed with my SodaStream.
I never thought fizzy water was obsession worthy…until I got this appliance.
Our neighbors have a lemon tree.
Half a lemon (juiced) + 2 cups homemade carbonated water = pure refreshment.
If you’re sick of paying for agua con gas and want to reduce your carbon footprint, I highly recommend the SodaStream. I got my dad one for Christmas and have been lusting for my own ever since. And if fizzy lemon water isn’t enticing enough, I feel obligated to inform you that you can make champagne from white wine too.
Of course, the company has a bazillion other flavor options too.
D) I almost forgot to take a photo of this guy, but here’s the last bite.
Dear Sweet Freedom, Please open a store in Los Angeles. Preferably across the street from me. Thanks.
E) Yellow carrots???
I’ll let you know.
F) I don’t get the hype when it comes to Biscoff cookies.
They were good, I guess, but I was expecting them to blow my mind after the Speculoos craze. Hmmm…what am I missing?
G) I just started watching Felicity on Netflix (never saw it back in it’s heyday) and I’m not sure how much more I can endure. I’m on episode 8 and she’s still just as pathetic as episode 1. It bothers me. I hate watching a [book] smart girl get walked all over. How many seasons was this show on? Please tell me she eventually grows a pair and tells Ben to suck it.
That’s all. First edition of Elise Lately here.
That pie looks delicious!!! Making a gluten-free pie is on my to-do list… I think I’ll wait until thanksgiving so I have people to eat it though.
Biscoff cookies (plus a little butter or the vegan equivalent) make an excellent cookie crust for cheesecake or a tart.
Can Kyle bring me with himto the White House? Better yet, can he bring YOU with him?
I do love “con gas” but have heard it’s not so good for teeth or something, so have refrained from the machine. But I do lust after them sometimes!
Congrats on pie crust, it’s a beauty!
Sodastream is my fav!
it was one of my fav shows….we can’t ruin it for you.
Haaa! I have not yet watched the episodes of Girls on my DVR, but I think I’m going to feel the same way about that show…I guess I can’t really judge until I see it for myself.
Felicity cuts her hair & they cancel the show. As if beautiful hair was the only reason we watched it.
That pie looks amazing! I have only made pie once in my pre-vegan days, so I am really thinking it ought to happen again!
So cool about the soda stream! I absolutely love my water “con gas” so this has been on my wish-list for a while. I had no idea you could make champagne with it though. Yet another reason to invest 🙂
Love the blog by the way. Long time reader but I’ve never commented. I decided it was finally time to change that! I suspect I have issues with FODMAPs as well so this blog and your other related specifially to FODMAPs have been such a huge help. Thank you 🙂
That pie looks delicious. I’ve never made pie either, it looks scary. I can’t believe Kyle gets to go to the White House, what an amazing opportunity. Let me know how those yellow carrots are, I’m trying to think if yellow skin will look better than orange 😉
Woah, Kyle is kicking ass! Awesome – what is his project? Or is that just between him and Obama!? 😉
Viper gets excited about home made pie too.
I’ve had purple carrots, but not yellow… they tasted the same, but were a lot prettier (and stained my hands like beets, so maybe orange is better)

kyle wants me to clarify that he probably won’t actually meet obama. however, last week someone told him “al gore loves what you are doing”. i love bragging about kyle, especially since he’s too modest to brag about himself. he works so hard, he deserves the credit! i had to wait til it came out in the newspaper today before i said anything though.

i wish!! funny thing is we were JUST in DC and he’s lready heading back. i want him to take me so i can check out michelle obama’s garden!
ive been reading mixed things about that…i cant figure out if its the carbonation or the added sugar or acid in store bought beverages. hmmmm…
youre the second person to mention that show! let me know if its good, ok?
hahahha…well, awesome. im pretty over her. i could use more of this javier character though.
hi gabby!! thanks for saying hi. good luck in the fodmaps realm.
i know its so cool!! im so so proud!
i agree, im in love.
Haha. Such a great collection of photos and facts. Sounds like you’ve got quite a lot going on! P.S. I want pie now!
