Due to poor weather conditions, we didn’t have much desire to venture away from our hotel in Uruguay. However, we did make it into town one day.
We walked there (tricked into thinking it was just a stroll down the beach) and it was drizzling nearly the entire time. But at least we got to see Punta Del Este’s main attraction.
Hand in the sand.
Our lunch selection was based on two things: (1) did they have seating inside? and (2) did they have coffee?
And so we found ourselves at Boca Chica Express.
Obviously I got coffee to start.
And bread.
Then we ordered food.
Caesar salad.
Pizza with greens.
Cheese-less egg omelet with peas and tomatoes.
With more bread and coffee to end on.
We shared it all and I simply picked around the (dairy) things I didn’t want.
Happy and full, we strolled the rest of the area trying to figure out what we were supposed to be doing in this cute little resort town. It was pretty much dead due to the gross weather, but there were a lot of designer stores, so I know the place must be reeling in the $$$ during high season.
I’m on a boat.
Tour buses were parked all along the beach next to “La Mano” so it as hard to get a good photo of the hand without tons of people in it.
I think the photo I tweeted when we were there was better than any of the pictures I took on my Canon.
Thumbs up.
Rather than make the return trek on foot, we got a taxi to take us back to the hotel.
The entire ride I was dreaming of waffles…
The next post is the last one of the trip. 🙁
The hand in the sand is so cool!
