You guys have been asking for the recipe for these nuts, so I finally measured stuff when I did my prep this weekend. So without further ado…
Simple candied walnuts
Ingredients:
- 5 cups walnuts
- 3 tbsp olive oil
- 2 tbsp maple syrup
- 1 tsp kosher salt
Directions:
Pre-heat the oven to 350 degrees F.
In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the olive oil and maple syrup. Then add the nuts and stir them (a lot) so that every nook and cranny is coated. Leave them for 3-5 minutes and then toss again. Let them sit once more for 3-5 minutes.
After you’ve let them reallllly soak up the oil/syrup, add them to a greased baking sheet. You may need two depending on the size of your baking sheets, but don’t have them overlap.
Salt them once they are all spread out.
Bake them for 15 minutes.
Let them cool before doing anything with them so that the syrup and oil will harden.
Store in an air tight container for 1-2 weeks (but they’ll be gone long before that!).
Wow, i never wiuld have guessed it’s so little maple syrup! I still can’t have whole nuts for a while but the moment i can these are happening finally!
